Catholic Education Week

Each year, the Catholic community of Ontario engages in a week-long celebration of the unique identity and distinctive contributions of Catholic education during Catholic Education Week. This year’s celebration is entitled, “Catholic Education: Living as Joyful Disciples” and will be celebrated during the week of May 5 – May 10

We have many exciting events planned for the students but we wanted to first highlight our Open House scheduled for Thursday, May 9th so that you can hopefully make plans to join us for some or all of it!

8:30  GYM     come and mingle with other parents in our community in the gym  Muffins & coffee will be available

                       Eco Fair & information from our Entrepreneurial Adventure  and our School Council will be highlighted at this time as well

9:15  GYM      Dance Showcase Team will perform

                        Principal will introduce our School- Wide Brain Inquiry

9:40                 Classroom Visits to learn about the brain from our students

10:15 - 10:45   Praying Together as a Community:   Please join us for our Education Week Liturgy of the Word in the Gym

Other activities that students will participate in will be

Monday, May 6th            Dress in green to show your school spirit during our Education Week Spirit Assembly

Tuesday May 7th            AM Living as Joyful Disciples Faith Activities in each classroom,  Clean Up the Capitol,

                                         All day Kinder classes to the Shenkman Arts Center

Wed May 8th                   Gr 3-6 students going to the Ottawa Fury Soccer Game  

                                          Grandparents/ Family members in to read with the Kinder, Gr 1 & 2 classes (invitations coming soon!)

Thurs May 9th                Open House!

Friday May 10th              AM - Special guests in to celebrate their love of reading with our classes  

                                         PM - Playing Together as a Community - Math & French games

Additionally it is Child Mental Health Week therefore we will even more intentionally highlight wellness strategies in the following ways: school wide meditation (Mon), Praying in Colour (Tues),  tell a joke: the power of laughter & positivity (Wed), the importance of Gratitude (Thurs) & Bust-A-Move: the benefits of physical activity (Fri)
