Hello

We are busy celebrating Black History Month in February! Additionally, thank you to all of the families who sent in pictures of their pets they would like us to pray for. We have a very full school prayer wall beside our School prayer table! St Francis is the Patron Saint of animals and thus welcomes the children's prayers for there pets!

Thurs Feb 6th is Winter Walk Day

Help your child have a great start to the day with some physical activity!  Walking to school lets your child connect with their community and learn new skills like problem-solving and pedestrian safety. Physical activity before the bell is a great way to increase self-esteem, build confidence, and arrive at school ready to learn!

If you can’t walk your child to school and they are too young to walk by themselves, then walking in groups with friends, siblings or other neighbours is a great option. Walking will give them extra time in the day to build friendships; walking home can also be a great time to think, relax, and mull over their day.

Please dress appropriately for the weather on this day because classes will also be going for a winter walk around the neighborhood!

Monday, Feb 10th is our next School Council Meeting beginning at 7:00 in our LC. All are welcome to come!

Feb 13th is our Dance-A-Thon!

Come dressed to dance and to celebrate Valentine’s Day! Many thanks to School Council for organizing this school fundraiser that directly benefits our students.

Your child's efforts could win a pair of 100 Level Ottawa Senators tickets, a Razor Scooter, Indigo or Scholastics Gift Cards, Art Kits or a Large Stuffy. The class with the most participation gets a Pizza Lunch and the student who raises the most gets to put a pie in the Principal’s face and your teacher’s face! Payments can be made through School Cash OnLine.

Our amazing EA Project is up and running!

The Fuller Hearts products will be available for purchase on School Cash Online. Here are some pictures of what is being produced.  All proceeds of the sales will go to the Children’s Wish Foundation. Any questions, please contact Mrs. Conway.

St Francis Walk-A-Block Map: Thank you to our Safe Active Transportation Committee, who was confirmed with the City school zone specialist the following areas that you can park around our school and walk to pick up your children. Our parking lot is very congested and choosing to use off site parking would greatly help us to ensure safe transportation for our students.
